Despite her history of dating handsome football players, Kim Kardashian says she just wants to find a “normal” guy.

“I’m dating,” Kardashian, 29, told E! News host Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards, but remained coy as to who her lucky suitors are.

However the reality star, who ended her three-year relationship with New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush in March, has recently been linked to Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin.

“The person I wanted to bring has a job and is a little busy,” admitted Kardashian, who brought mom Kris Jenner as a back-up date to the star-studded event Sunday night.

According to E! Online, Austin would have presumably been Kardashian’s Emmy date, however he had a game in Houston the night before and another later this week in Miami.

Kardashian admits it is difficult to meet a new guy because she isn’t a fan of blind dates. This however, hasn’t stopped her mother from playing matchmaker.

“She’s trying to come up with all these names in Hollywood, and I’m like ‘Just get me out of here. I want a normal Armenian boy,’ ” Kardashian said.

On Sunday night’s episode of “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” Jenner worked overtime to set her daughter up with someone who suits both of their requirements: Alecko Eskandarian, an Armenian soccer player who plays for the L.A. Galaxy.

“I absolutely love [Armenian men],” Kardashian said. “[But] I don’t know if this one worked out that well.”

Though their date didn’t go as Jenner had hoped, there appears to be no hard feelings between Kardashian and Eskandarian.

Following the episode, the soccer star tweeted, “Thank you @KimKardashian for being a fun date and a down to earth person. I had a great time and have nothing but good things to say about u.”

MAN TORTURE GIRLFRIEND OVER FACEBOOK POST!

(AP)  U.S. authorities say a California man jealous over a message on his girlfriend's Facebook page tortured and imprisoned her for four days while their children were in the house.

Kings County sheriff's deputies arrested 36-year-old Anthony Lozano at his Hanford home over the weekend on suspicion of false imprisonment, kidnapping, torture and other charges.

Sheriff's Cmdr. Dave Putnam tells The Hanford Sentinel that Lozano accused the 23-year-old victim of having an affair after he saw the Facebook message.

Lozano is suspected of grabbing the woman's hair, dragging her and threatening to kill her before choking her with a rope and a towel.

Putnam said the couple's child and another child belonging to the victim were in the house at the time.

Lozano remained in Kings County custody Monday evening on $725,000 bail. It was unknown if he had an attorney.

PARIS HILTON ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGE.

Paris Hilton smiled in her mugshot after she was arrested Friday night on suspicion of felony cocaine possession in Las Vegas (see above).

Her attorney is urging people "not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law."

Police pulled over a car that the heiress, 29, was riding in Friday night on the famed Las Vegas Strip because officers thought they smelled marijuana smoke.

They then found an undisclosed amount of cocaine in Hilton's purse, according to the Associated Press.

Hilton was booked around 2 a.m. on a cocaine possession charge and was released.

No other details are available at this time.

Hilton was linked to drugs earlier this summer. In July, she was detained in South Africa for alleged marijuana possession (charges were later dropped when a friend said the pot belonged to her). A few weeks later, reports surfaced that Hilton was stopped in France after local authorities found less than a gram of marijuana in her purse. Hilton denied the second incident on Twitter, writing: "The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false!"

Hilton pleaded no contest in 2007 to alcohol-related reckless driving and was sentenced to 45 days in jail. She served 23 days in jail.

Later that year, during an interview with Larry King, she famously denied ever using drugs.

"Have you ever been addicted to drugs?" he asked.

"No," she replied.

She also said "no" when he asked if she's ever experimented with drugs.

At the age of 16 Tiwa Savage was opportune to sing backup for George Michael. Before this opportunity, she was a member of her high school band, puffing on her trombone near the back of the orchestra. It was at this point that Savage gazed through the rows of musicians and realized that her destiny is to be positioned in the spotlight; singing in front of the orchestra.

A blossoming star, folks about town in London started to take notice and she was soon performing at local talent shows. MTN PROJECT FAME:THE SHOW MUST GO ON!

Despite Inferno, MTN Project Fame Continues

Inspite of last Sunday’s fire outbreak that gutted the Ultima Studios, venue of two MTN sponsored popular television shows - MTN Project Fame West Africa and ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire?’ - the telecommunication company has announced that the shows would continue.

According to General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN Nigeria, Mr Kola Oyeyemi, although the fire incident would impact on the continuity of the two programmes in the short term, arrangements are being made to continue the shows with the same quality of content and production.

“We thank God that no life was lost and there was no casualty whatsoever. We were at the facility while the fire was raging and we were quite impressed with Ultima’s commitment and immediate steps taken to ensure the shows go on despite their losses, Oyeyemi said.

According to him, a new location has been identified for the Project Fame Academy, and the students will be relocated there within the next two weeks. A temporary studio has also been secured and work will commence immediately so that the crowd-pulling show can resume.

Corroborating this, the Managing Director of Ultima Studios Limited, Mr Femi Ayeni, said that alternative arrangements are in place, confirming that the fire outbreak would not distract the progress of the shows.

His words: “Although the incident is catastrophic and the loss shattering, we are grateful to God that no life was lost. The contestants are safe and we are confident that the show will go on, and in no time we will be back on air on the various TV stations. So keep watching.”

Oyeyemi emphasised that MTN is committed to enriching the lives of Nigerians, and not even a fire outbreak of this magnitude could hinder the company from delivering on its promises. He said that Ultima Studios has continually demonstrated the commitment to ensure that the MTN brand does not lose its customer engagement and passion point satisfaction.

Infusion is a Literary Event begun by Dapo Oyewole and Lola Shoneyin (Lola is the daughter-in-Law of Wole Soyinka, and the poet and novelist--novel, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives) The tagline for the series of monthly events in "an evening of readings, poetry, music and art". This is the 7th edition.
It holds at JB's Bar and Grill, Maitama Amusement Park, every last Thursday of the month. They have previously had such authors as Chimamanda Adichie, Chika Unigwe, and Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani.



Eghosa Imasuen was born in Ibadan in 1976. He grew up in Warri and now lives in Benin with his wife and twin sons. He is a medical doctor by profession. His writing has been published in online magazines like Black Biro, The New Gongand in Farafina magazine. To Saint Patrick is his first novel.

“To Saint Patrick” is a Nigerian take on the Alternate History genre of fiction. This means that I take a moment in history, change something, reach a different outcome, and then ask the big question, “What if?” So what I did with To Saint Patrick was ask, “What if Murtala had survived the Assassination of Feb 13 1976?” What if he had led the country up on till October ’79? How would that Nigeria seem to us who were born after he ruled? What effect would his personality have had on the country, on the choices we have made as a collective?

The only change to the previous details of the record setting version, however, will include its speed capped at 415km/h to help protect the tires.

The current model comes out after Bugatti’s continuous development of the classic 987bhp Veyron”, which was first launched in 2005. Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport churns out mammoth 1,184-hp and 1,106 Nm of torque, which is 200 hp and 250 Nm more than its standard version, achieved by using four enlarged turbochargers on the 8.0 liter, 16-cylinder engine along with larger intercoolers.

BIG BROTHER AFRICA'S FIRST REAL COUPLE?

Breaking News! Last Saturday (21 Aug) while at the Ogus Baba Laugh Goes On comedy club in Port Harcourt, Big Brother Revolution winner, Kevin Chuwang Pam and his lady friend, and Revolution contestant Elizabeth Gupta got up on stage and performed a track together.

Nigeria’s biggest comedian, Ali Baba introduced the couple to the 2000 strong crowd. Once they’d finished performing “Una Pata Mambo” (Anything you want, right there you get it), Kevin went down on one knee and proposed to Elizabeth. He said he kept it simple and just asked: “Elizabeth, will you marry me?”.

The crowd started screaming: “say yes, say yes, say yes” and obviously she did. Kevin then says a woman broke free from the crowd, ran onto the stage and congratulated them both with a huge hug.


This guy really serious ooooo, I thought he was just playing the chick when they were in the house.

WYCLEF TO APPEAL RULING AGAINST HIS RUN FOR PRESIDENT!

Wyclef To Appeal Ruling Against His Run For Haitian Presidency

After he was disqualified from the running for the president of Haiti last week, rapper Wyclef Jean has plans to appeal the decision.

Saturday, after finding out he was denied the opportunity to fun for the highest seat in his native country, Clef had this to say,

“I respectfully accept the committee's final decision, and I urge my supporters to do the same.”

Now in a released statement, the former Fugee is announcing a change of heart. He now says he will appeal the ruling,

"After careful consideration and much soul-searching, I have made the decision to contest Haiti's board of election's pronouncement stating that I am ineligible to run for the presidency of the country. I will be seeking a solution through legal channels, and I urge my countrymen to be patient through this process. In the 36 hours since the board's decision, I have been in constant conversation with my family, friends and advisers, and reading the comments of good people and supporters throughout the Haitian diaspora.

I've also been closely monitoring the situation on the ground, which I am happy to report has remained peaceful and thoughtful. I, along with my supporters, am deeply disappointed that I have been denied the chance to present my candidacy to Haiti's voters.”

Haiti's Board of Elecetion's ruled that Clef was ineligible because although he was born in Haiti, Wyclef is not a full-time resident. Haitian law stipulates that a candidate must be living in Haiti for five years prior to election. Clef says no matter the outcome, he will keep Haiti first.

“I want to continue in my efforts to always keep Haiti top of mind for the world--I don't want to give anyone the chance to forget the earthquake victims, or my impoverished homeland, rich only in human potential and kindness."
