NIGERIAN MAKES FBI MOST WANTED LIST FOR STEALING $44 MILLION

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI has added a Nigerian, Mr. Tobechukwu Enyinna Onwuhara, 30, to its list of ‘Most Wanted Fugitives.’

According to a report on America’s Most Wanted, the Bureau said ‘Tobechi Onwuhara is a criminal mastermind’ who in less than three years stole $44 million dollars from banks in the United States using sophisticated methods including stealing bank customer’s personal information, Home Equity Lines of Credit details and account numbers.

BRAZIL SEEKS NOLLYWOOD'S EXPERTISE IN FILM MAKING.

Governor Baba-tunde Fashola of Lagos State  has said that in the next couple of months the state government, in collaboration with  Nollywood, will sign a Memorandum of  Understanding, MoU, with the Brazilian  Government to teach Brazilian artistes movie  production. Governor Fashola made this known in Alausa  during a courtesy visit by Nollywood actors  and actresses under the aegis of Lagos  Artistes for Fashola, LAFF, led by Mr. Segun  Arinze who are championing the campaign for  Fashola's second term in office. His said: "There is an offer on the table from  the Brazilian government which the state  government is yet to harness. The last time I  visited Brazil, the Brazilian Minister for  Tourism asked that they will like to sign a  Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with  Nigerians to teach Brazilians on how to  produce home videos. "That offer is still on the table and we are yet to harness it because we are yet to have this  type of forum where we can work out the  necessary modalities. As soon as the artistes  are ready, I will re-establish the contact and  open up the network." so that whatever benefits comes from the  contract, the credit goes to the country and  the movie industry." Fashola, however, commended the artistes for their support during the 2007  electoral  campaign and urged them to promote the  ideals that would better the lots of the people in the society. The Governor said: "By sheer deed of  commitment, you have found a way where  there seems to be no way. You have helped  to address youth restiveness and  unemployment." adding that lots of youths had not been  harnessed in the area of cinematography.

Zain Nigeria finally and formally changed its brand identity to Airtel. This was after concluding a $10.7 billion transaction in June this year, which gave Indian Bharti Airtel the Zain Group’s Celtel Africa Unit.

The name change, which happened Friday across the country changes the African footprints of Zain to now  AirTel . The name change brings to sixth the number of times the company would have to change identity since 2001 it started operations in Nigeria .

A 25-year-old law graduate from the University of Wales, Onyekwere Michael Onyemaechi has been arraigned before the Ikeja Magistrate’s Court for using his blackberry phone to take pictures of some police officers at their duty post.

When he was arraigned before Magistrate Botoku, who held brief for Magistrate A.O Komolafe, Michael, who just came into Nigeria nine days ago after seven  years of studying abroad to commence Law School in Abuja, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge brought against him by the police prosecutor.

From the list of headliners it is Obvious that this year’s Ikeja Allstarz concert, the fourth edition since 2007 will be “off da hook”. Slated for Saturday 4th of December, 2010 it will feature over 30 performances one night.

Aside performances, the blue carpet and annual entertainment honours are features to watch out for in the show that is reputed as the biggest community hip hop event in the continent.

Ikeja Allstarz concert is an annual event that celebrates entertainment in Nigeria and showcase star music talents and next rated artistes on one stage to the world.
