LAURYN HILL PLEADS GUILTY TO TAX EVASION, FACES THREE YEARS IN PRISON

Former Fugees Member, Lauryn Hill has pleaded Guilty to Tax evasion and might be doing Prison time soon. TMZ reports...


According to TMZ, the Fugees frontwoman told a judge on Friday that she intentionally failed to file tax returns from 2005, 2006, and 2007, when she earned more than $1.8 million. In addition to prison time, she could be hit with a $75,000 fine.


When the judge asked Hill if she “intentionally and willingly” failed to file the returns, she replied, “Yes.”


She was released on $150,000 bail and will be sentenced in November.


In a previous letter posted online, Hill defended her actions, claiming to have removed herself and her family from society during those three years in order to “keep them safe, healthy, and free from danger.”


“For the past several years, I have remained what others would consider underground,” she wrote. “I kept my life relatively simple, even after huge successes, but it became increasingly obvious that certain indulgences and privileges were expected to come at the expense of my free soul, free mind, and therefore my health and integrity.”

Some People are Excited about them, Some are Pissed. But do we really Know what we are getting ouselves into??? Entertainment Lawyer Ms. Uduak Oduak Attempts to break it down for us...

I recently worked on a draft article dealing with COSON’s billion-naira lawsuits against Wazobia and Cool FM. Radio stations are also important stakeholders in the music industry and certainly any steps taken to protect copyrights of artists, cannot do so in a way that is highly detrimental to radio stations. The COSON lawsuits against the aforementioned radio stations, in my view, create complex issues that deal first with the role of COSON as a performance rights organization and second the protection of radio broadcast rights and organizations in Nigeria. It is an interesting balancing act and I hope to share my thoughts soon.

How Creative....This woman was napped at the airport with Cocaine woven into her dreadlocks


The 23-year-old South African woman was caught at the Bangkok International Airport in December last year and has now been sentenced to 15 years in jail. The criminal - Nolubabalo “Babsie” Nobanda had on unusually thick and long dreadlocks. The procedure to unlock them took several hours and left her dizzy and in pain.

After a court hearing, Nobanda was sentenced to 15 years in a Thai prison for smuggling 600g of cocaine from Brazil to Thailand.

The Central Working Committee for The Future Awards has announced three special-vehicle sector Town Hall Meetings in the month of June – in the build up to August 26, Nigeria’s biggest youth event, The Future Awards 2012.
The Town Hall meetings will be hosted by popular culture event Taruwa; Conversations for Change, which is an organisation for young professionals committed to nation building, the British Council’s Creative Enterprise Series and Lagos’s Co-Creation Hub, which has become a model for involvement and convergence with technology.
“This is yet another innovation from Nigeria’s most respected youth platform,” said Ohimai Atafo, who is chair of the CWC. “The idea is to have town hall meetings targeted at the broad sectors that the awards is interested in. You will remember that this year’s categories were segmented into Innovation, Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Entertainment, and Excellence in Public Service, and these town halls are focused on these.”

Their rock 'n' roll romance is told through the heart-pounding hits of Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, REO Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and more. Adam Shankman (Hairspray) directs the feature adaptation of the Broadway musical Rock of Ages for New Line Cinema.

VIDEO: LYNXX & EFYA PERFORM IN NEW YORK

        Syndik8 Artiste & Pepsi Ambassador, Lynxxx, embarked on a 4-city U.S. tour with Ghanaian Songstress, Efya. Both managed by Eclipse Brand Agency (EBA), they entertained their ever-supportive international fans making stops in Austin, Chicago, Miami and New York. They worked with local artistes in Chicago and attended the South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Efya showcased at the Miles Davis House and both artistes attended the Grammy Block Party with Gary Clark Jr. as the headlining act.
    In New York, Lynxxx and Efya recorded a few tracks with NY-based producer, Synematik, at the infamous Premier Studios in Times Square.

Atlanta (CNN) - (CNN) - Megachurch pastor Creflo Dollar was arrested in suburban Atlanta on simple battery charges, police said Friday.


Deputies in Georgia's Fayette County responded to a call about a domestic disturbance about 1 a.m. Friday. Dollar's daughter, 15, said she argued with her father over attending a party, said Investigator Brent Rowan of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.


The daughter says the argument got physical.


She said her father charged her, put his hands around her throat and began to choke her, according to a police report. She said he then slammed her to the ground, punched her and beat her with his shoe.

Dollar's daughter was able to get away and dial 911, Rowan said.


Deputies noticed a scratch on the daughter's neck and arrested Dollar on charges of simple battery, family violence and child cruelty.


He was booked into the Fayette County jail early Friday. A judge set Dollar's bond at $5,000 during a morning hearing, and he was released.


Dollar is a senior pastor of World Changers Church International in suburban Atlanta, which claims about 30,000 members and has an $18 million sanctuary known as the World Dome.

Zainab apparently Provoked DKB by walking into the bathroom while he was bathing, DKB approached her afterwards and a War of Words ensued, It later lead to DKB slapping her. They have Both been disqualified from the game after what Biggie termed  "Contravening the Violence rule".

Having reviewed the footage, Big Brother has come to the following decision:

“DKB – you have been disqualified from the game for contravening the violence rule. You must pack your bags immediately, and take them to Storeroom. You must say goodbye to your Housemates and then leave the house through the Storeroom. DKB, leave the Diary Room immediately, and pack your bags,” Big Brother said.

To Zainab, Big Brother said; “having reviewed the footage very carefully, Big Brother can come to no other conclusion than that your provocation of DKB contributed substantively to the incident. For this reason, Big Brother has concluded that you have also been disqualified. Once DKB has left the House, you too will pack your bags and take them to the storeroom. You will then say goodbye to your Housemates, and leave through the storeroom.”

 The Big Brother rules state clearly that; Any Housemate who becomes physically violent will be removed from the House immediately. Violence can refer to self-inflicted violence, or violence towards another. Violence includes provocation, goading, bullying and victimisation.
