It occurred to me for the first time as I sat in the car’s front seat and felt my father’s cold corpse in the back seat in May 2007. The nurses at the Ikorodu General Hospital had just said no to his body. He had died from heart failure an hour or two before. They needed a police report.

I could hardly believe the utter coldness of it. But I had yet to see – or hear – the worst. Because I am born and bred in Nigeria, I knew that, at 11pm, the body of my dear father might rot if I sat there pondering the inanity of the request or stood up to argue its inhumanity, so I led the convoy to the nearest police station.

There, with the most pointed lack of compassion I had ever witnessed up onto that point, the police proceeded to haggle with themselves over how much they would extract from a 24-year-old who had just lost his father – a father whose dead body was only a few meters away.

I applied for a work permit at the British Embassy in Abuja/Lagos but unfortunately up till the close of business on Friday August 24, 2012 I was unable to obtain a work permit, as a result I have to cancel my performance and my trip to the United Kingdom altogether.

I apologize for the inconvenience and the disappointment, but be rest assured that I will make it up to you all on a future date. You will agree with me that it is better to be law abiding at all times and in every jurisdiction.

"I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched ... switched in a night and I couldn't control that," the Barbados native told Winfrey. "So I had to deal with that, and that's not easy for me to understand or interpret. It's not easy to interpret on camera. Not with the world watching."

Flight crew of Nigeria’s major carrier, Arik Air, were vindicated over constant allegations of stealing passengers money and other valuables, when a passenger was caught stealing another passenger’s N200,000 cash at the weekend.


The male passenger, who was seated in the business class cabin with his victim on flight W3 162 ABV- LOS, Abuja to Lagos, was said to have ransacked his neighbour’s bag on seat 3C and taken the N200,000, during which process he was sighted by another passenger, who immediately asked the victim to check his bag.

The debut single from Music Bunker, We Ridin' featured an entourage of emcees spitting ill punchlines and metaphors. Now the team at the Abuja based recording studio ships out another single in high contrast to the previous one to exhibit its versatility. Despite the track title, the song doesn't turn out to be as generic as one would expect. Tinkololo features an R&B singer from the east called Lalah, and rap artist Jay Dizzle who also featured on the previous single. Music Bunker introduces another member of its production team on this one, he goes by the name Boyé

Together known as GTS GANG, Kranik and Yong come together on this thumping opus titled “Go Hard” with excellent production coming from in-house producer Buster Keyz.

Laced with dark drum patterns, commanding guitar riffs and heavy synth keyboards as well as lush horn and string inserts that all come together to give this record life, “Go Hard” is a lively and hugely infectious Hip-Hop song which sees Kilt Kranik and Mini Yong flexing their lyrical muscles with hard-hitting lyrics, witty punchlines and clever wordplay that is sure to leave you hitting the rewind and repeat button after listening...
