The United States is deeply concerned about the fighting in northeastern Nigeria following President Jonathan’s declaration of a state of emergency in the Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states. We are also deeply concerned by credible allegations that Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations, which, in turn, only escalate the violence and fuel extremism.

Bez says people told him that Nigerians did not like guitar music, only hip-hop or Afro-pop but he thinks his success has proved them wrong.

Wale -The Gifted Album Art Cover & Release Date

Wale incorporates sculpture, Rolls Royce Phantoms, Jesus pieces and the Capitol Building in his third album's cover.

In a minute-long album trailer, D.C. rapper Wale revealed both the release date and title for his third studio album. Titled The Gifted, the album is currently set for a June 25th release date.

In the album trailer, which comes courtesy of director Chad Tennies, Wale possibly hints at the themes his new album may tackle as he briefly speaks on the music industry and being a hustler.

“The hustler, priding his self on the very things they hate him for…The gifted. Aren’t we all? I said, aren’t we all,” Wale questions at the end of The Gifted trailer.

The Maybach Music Group emcee previously commented on his third studio album during an interview with HipHopSince1987.com and shared that the project would be greatly similar to his earlier work.

“I'm very excited about the music, because it's very reminiscent of my earlier work with Mark Ronson and things of that nature. I'm excited,” said Wale in an October interview.

Wale’s last studio album, Ambition, was released in November 2011 and featured appearances from Kid Cudi, Miguel, Rick Ross, and more.

12 Nominations for Drake at this years BET Awards

Toronto’s own Drake has been nominated for 12 awards at this year’s BET Awards set to air live on June 30th from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

BET announced the nominees today as rappers Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz were offered eight awards, A$AP Rocky is up for five, Miguel for four, while Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, and Miguel are up for a trio of awards for their work this year.

Drake was nominated three times for the video of the year (“Started from the Bottom,” “No Lie,” “Problems”) but will face some popular competition that includes Justin Timberlake’s “Suit & Tie,” Kanye West’s “Mercy,” “Adorn” by Miguel and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Thrift Shop.”

Chris Brown and R. Kelly are also set to perform, while  Chris Tucker will host the BET Awards.

NEW SEASON OF 24 BACK IN MAY 2014

The clock will start ticking again on Fox's real-time thriller 24.

The network on Monday confirmed plans to restart the action thriller, which starred Kiefer Sutherland as counter-terrorist agent Jack Bauer and ended its eight-season run in 2010.

The new season, one of two "limited series" Fox plans for 2014, will be compressed into 12 weeks and premiere next May, says Fox entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly. "We'll go in chronological order with the hours of the day, but we'll skip some hours," he says.

Producer Howard Gordon, now working on Homeland and other series, "always had the idea of maybe someday doing a feature film" on the series, Reilly says. A script underwent several revisions but never got the greenlight by Fox's sibling movie studio.


So a Fox executive suggested a revival that would span fewer episodes. "I don't think I'd ever want to do 24 (episodes) again," Gordon says. "It was a crushing high-wire act; we look back with wonder and amazement but we have no desire to try to repeat that." Doing half as many episodes "helps you to avoid the contortions we were forced to make on the show, (and) we can use the time deletions to account for some of the distances the story had to improbably travel."

Adds Reilly: "The spine of 24 episodes was really about 12 hours," with the rest made up of "little twists and connective tissue."

Gordon was swayed by the availability of Sutherland and co-writers Evan Katz and Manny Coto, now wrapping up other TV projects. As for other actors, "everybody who's not dead is still in play," he says. The series expects to resume production in January.

Eazy-E Planned To Kill Suge Knight ~ Jerry Heller

Jerry Heller claims that Eazy-E wanted to kill Suge Knight. "I should have let him kill him," Heller says. "I would have done the world a favor."

According to Ruthless Records co-founder Jerry Heller, Eazy-E wanted to kill Suge Knight. Heller recently revealed this in a radio interview, claiming that Eazy wanted to kill Knight and that he feels he "should have let him" do it.

In an interview with Prezident Bejda of The Murder Master Music Show, Heller explained how this conversation took place.

"Eazy said, 'You know this guy Suge Knight?' I said, 'Yeah.' He says, 'Well, I'm gonna kill him!' He said, 'This guy is gonna be a problem and I think I should kill him.' I said, 'Let me think this thing through. First of all, we're doing $10 million a month with six employees. We don't even have a typewriter in the office. We're the most successful start-up record company in the history of the music business and you want to kill this guy? That just doesn't make any sense to me.'"

Heller then explained that he regrets talking Eazy out of it.

"You know something? I should have let him kill him. You know? I would have done the world a favor. He would have done it for sure by himself. He always rolled by himself and he was fearless...I think that he was going to go do it. I took him seriously."

"He was right and I was wrong," he later added. "I shouldn't have talked him out of it. Ruthless would probably still be around. Dr. Dre and Ice Cube would probably still be with Ruthless. It would have been an empire."

Hudson Mohawke Plays Two New Kanye West Songs During Set

Hudson Mohawke is giving G.O.O.D. Music fans quite the preview at his shows.

To say people are anticipating whatever work comes from Kanye West next would be an understatement. It's been three years since the G.O.O.D. Music head dropped a solo album and fans are getting itchy.

New music by Kanye has been completed and fans are getting a taste of it through a direct source not named "Kanye West." G.O.O.D. Music signee Hudson Mohawke, who appears on the collective's Cruel Summer album, has been playing unreleased 'Ye songs during his sets at numerous shows.

A pair of videos surfaced recently where one can hear the new songs. The videos are from the Freeform Festival in Poland and debut tracks from whatever project Kanye is working on.
